I\’m sorry, I can\’t touch your meat
On a related topic to the Muslim Cab Drivers that Wade and I discussed, I recently came across this: http://www.buzz.mn/?q=node/898. Had this happened to me, I probably just would have scanned my own pork product and moved on. But obviously this has got a lot of people worked up…and perhaps rightfully so.

\”I WANT BOOBY\”
I recently came across a blog entry on startribune.com the touched on a hot button issue in American society today: breastfeeding. In this case it was not just breastfeeding, but breastfeeding children who are 3, 4, or even 5 years old.

Raging Bull****
(Ed. Note: Wade and wadE were both working on this same story, Wade just published first. Oddly enough their two takes are quite similar. Great Wades think alike) When the story first broke on Muslim cab drivers at MSP (Minneapolis – St. Paul airport) were refusing to allow passengers carrying alcohol (in their luggage mind…

Open Letter to the Star Tribune
Dear Star Tribune, I\’m writing in regard to a headline found on this morning\’s (1/31) startribune.com. The headline reads: Wild gets offense untracked \”Untracked\” is a word that has crept into the sports lexicon over the past few years. Oddly enough, \”untracked\” when used in the sports world has the exact opposite meaning that you…

Limericks About Booze
Winona ponders naming poet laureate. Seriously. Seriously?! Poetry about Winona would be highly entertaining, in some ways. Can Austin be next? I want to hear some rhyming couplets about the kill floor. In other local news, Blue Earth is searching for a local prankster who\’s been setting off the civil defense sirens. Personally, I\’ve got…

Have any of you seen this article in the New York Times? Oy. I\’m so glad we\’ve thwarted those evil terrorists who would have bombed us all back to the stone age using snow globes. There are some good chuckles to be had; at least we haven\’t lost the ability to laugh at our own…

Who\’s more petulant?
Hey hey! I\’m back after an extended break. I\’m sure you missed me as much I as missed you. No, I love you more. No, I love you more. No, I *smack*… Anyway, my new favorite news story can be found here. That\’s right, as a way to punish Kim Jong-Il personally, the US is…

Does Chief Wahoo Need To Go: Redux
I\’ve tackled this topic before. But an article by my favorite Strib columnist Katherine Kersten discusses the University of North Dakota\’s mascot, The Fighting Sioux. See, I told you that Kersten is slippery. Every time you think she\’s a right wing wack job, she pushes out an article like this that I agree with 99.44%.

Letters to God… for sale!
I was reading this article about a man in New Jersey who found a bag full of letters meant for God that had been kept by a New Jersey minister who had passed away. The last bit of that article infuriated me. The man who found these letters; which contain very private, personal, revealing information…
