Courtesy of the AP:

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper and three other Vikings players were charged today with three misdemeanors each for taking part in a bawdy boat party earlier this season on Lake Minnetonka.

Culpepper, Bryant McKinnie, Fred Smoot and Moe Williams were charged with indecent conduct, disorderly conduct and lewd or lascivious conduct, according to court papers.

So, some heads will finally roll in this... well, probably not. First off these are misdeameanor charges... the maximum sentence is 90 days in jail. Even if the people involved were not Vikings players, your average citizen is getting off with community service on this.

Second, two of the four charged aren't on the active roster, Smoot has just come back from an injury and somewhat replaced by a surging Brian Williams, and McKinnie... well, losing him wouldn't be a good thing at this point, but all in all, you couldn't hope for more from a Vikings perspective as to who was charged.

Third, how many of these guys are married? Not only have they been hearing it at home since the story broke, now these four are really going to get it. Obviously the insinuation is that these gentlement whipped it out on the boat and was having a "good time". Although, I'm sure Daunte's guest bedroom is quite comfortable. :-)

Some additional good news (relatively speaking):

An exotic dancer from Atlanta who said she was on one of the boats said in an interview with the Star Tribune that she saw two incidents of sexual activity on her boat, but not as much as has been described in some news accounts.
...
She said that she didn't know if any Vikings were involved and that it was her understanding that an invitation to the party didn't include an expectation to have sex. At least a dozen other exotic dancers from Atlanta attended the party, she said, but she didn't know if they were paid.

"I wasn't flown up to be a prostitute," she said during an interview in Atlanta.

"Yeah... I've got morales and stuff... ... honey!"

Ok, I made that last quote up...
