Additional Week 2 Thoughts
- wadE
Per usual, go here and come back.
On one hand, it's good to hear the coaches realize their culpability in all of this.
What concerns me is the tone. "When you only have one touchdown in two games, you obviously
have some things to fix. So our job as coaches is to look." Either A) he's got no idea what is
wrong or B) he has some idea, and isn't going to tell.
Let's hope it's B.
But when Ted Cottrell on the defensive side says that maybe we're tipping out schemes... that
makes me think he doesn't know what's going on either. Maybe we're tipping our schemes???
What kind of
excuse is that? That's like the accusation that the Giants were intercepting our radio signals to
the quarterback in the 2000 NFC Championship game. Are we saying the other side is cheating, or
are we just stupid?
I honestly don't think Loney or Cottrell know what's going on. Loney has too much on his plate,
and I don't think has the stuff to be an offensive coordinator. Cottrell, well, he's got lots of
experience and success, right? Well, yes and no. His '99 Bills defense was arguably the best that
year, but outside of that year his defenses have been in the mid to upper teens in rank
(points allowed).
I just hope I'm wrong.
