The short of it is that some scientists think that we should re-introduce large mammals back to North America. And by re-introduce, they mean that
these animals were around as recently as 13,000 years ago (that's not a typo - it's not a tumor, neither). These would be fun big animals like Cheetahs,
Camels, Elephants, and (eventually) Lions.
Now that's a fun thought. Nice old farmer in Kansas, out harvesting the wheat, has to dodge cheetahs. Do they make an armor-plated tractor?
Not to mention that if the oil does run out, it might be less fun trying to out-run a lion in a horse-drawn SUV. Just a thought.
