Mega-fauna

I was gonna cop out and do another round of search hits, but we'll have to save that for another day, as random web browsing has won the day yet again. Click here for the link.

The short of it is that some scientists think that we should re-introduce large mammals back to North America. And by re-introduce, they mean that these animals were around as recently as 13,000 years ago (that's not a typo - it's not a tumor, neither). These would be fun big animals like Cheetahs, Camels, Elephants, and (eventually) Lions.

Now that's a fun thought. Nice old farmer in Kansas, out harvesting the wheat, has to dodge cheetahs. Do they make an armor-plated tractor?

Not to mention that if the oil does run out, it might be less fun trying to out-run a lion in a horse-drawn SUV. Just a thought.

And with all that said, hey, why the hell not? Sounds like fun to me!
