When I was 22 I was fascinated by the Minneapolis skyline. Funny how working down here has taken away some of the intrigue. Now I'm more interested in what the skyline used to look like. Here's a fun one, thanks to twincitycityscape.com. Larry Millett is a photog for the Pio Press has a couple of books out that detail how the architecture of the metro area has changed in the past 150 years. This one is my favorite-- he shows a cityscape picture taken decades ago and takes a picture from the same spot now (well, in 1998) and contrasts the two. Yes, I'm a dork.
Naming the source for this was the trivia question at Caribou this morning. Ten cents for me! WaHOOOOO!
Here's a top ten list I'd like to see: top ten hidden tracks. So you've got "Kid Things" by Counting Crows, "Zamboni" by Gear, I thought "Forgive Me Love" (Alanis) was decent. Um. Others? Maybe it should be a top five list.
This is being touted as a top story by startribune.com. Slow news day, anybody?
And finally.
You like gummy bears? Me too. Go here and be frickin' amazed.
