European Vacation
- wadE
Everybody sing! "Holiday Rooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-oooad...
Holiday Roo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-oooad!"
For those of you not in the know, Chelle and I are off to Europe in a week for a 3 week trip.
For those of you who are interested, here's the plan:
Day 1 - Leave MSP mid-day
Day 2 - Arrive Dublin mid-morning. We're staying at the fancy-schmancy
Westbury Hotel.
We actually had reservations at the local Marriott using Marriott Points, but they called up to tell
us that since we had booked, the Marriott has decided
to go under some serious construction, so they're putting us up at another hotel... well, if we
HAVE to, I guess we'll stay there. :-)
Day 3 - Find Guinness Brewery,
drink copious amounts of Guinness
Day 4 - Potentially rent car and drive to some fun sights (e.g. castles, rolling green hills,
various pubs, etc.)
Day 5 - Find Jameson Distillery,
drink copious amounts of Irish Whiskey
Day 6 - Fly to Copenhagen (Staying with friends, who are scheduled to have their second child a
couple days before we arrive!)
Day 7 - Tired of screaming newborn, decide to stay at hotel downtown
for at least one night... ;-)
Day 8 - Tivoli Gardens
(kinda like a six flags amusement
park/gardens)
Day 9 - More Tivoli if it's as fun as it looks
Day 10 - Shopping in Copenhagen
Day 11 - potential side trips
Day 12 - potential side trips
Day 13 - Board Cruise in Copenhagen
Day 14 - At Sea
Day 15 - Nynashamn (For Stockholm)
Day 16 - Helsinki
Day 17 - St. Petersburg Arrive
Day 18 - St. Petersburg Depart
Day 19 - Tallinn (Estonia)
Day 20 - Gdynia (Poland)
Day 21 - At Sea
Day 22 - Oslo
Day 23 - Copenhagen - Fly home mid-morning; arrive back at MSP late that night... gotta love
time zone changes!
Needless to say, we're very excited. Additionally, this is your official warning to not
expect anything from me until I get back.
In the meantime, keep an eye out for much anticipated 5th Annual ABC article. It's in draft stage
and should be published in the next couple of weeks!
Skol!
