In case you haven't caught the headlines yet, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor has
resigned.
Great...now Bush will get to appoint 2 nominees...
The tiniest bit of silver lining here is that she will resign effective the confirmation
of her successor... which means we'll be getting back to the Filibuster fiasco sooner,
rather than later.
Maybe when the new court suspends habeas corpus and other liberties, people will finally
get off their duffs and use their vote to make a change... of course that assumes people
will still have the right to vote. ;-)
What an ominous sign as we head into the long weekend entering the 229th year of this fine
country.
