Subway

I didn't get the memo... did you get the memo?

Were you aware that Subway has stopped their stamp program?

Subway has used the stamps for 20 years (I'm shocked Subway has been around that long). But now they are no more.

Why would they do this... to be honest, it's about the only reason I go to Subway. There was always something very rewarding about going into Subway with a card full of stamps, and walking out with a free sandwich. I was very annoyed a few years ago when they changed the program to require you to buy a soda with your free sandwich. Oh, so pay $1.49 plus tax for something that costs you 10 cents? Greaaaaaat. F-ers!

Anyway, after some internet research, the offical reason they ditched the program is "Subway officials cite labor costs and high gas prices as the reason for yanking the popular promotion." In reality the reason is fraud. Apparently if you go out to ebay you can find people selling cards, and selling whole rolls of stamps.

While I'll still probably go to Subway from time to time, when it comes to choosing Subway, or another sandwhich place, now I'll be more likely to go somewhere else.
