Give Me a Break

And I ain't talkin' 'bout no Kit-Kat bar, neither!
Ok, so by now I'm sure that most of you have a passing familiarity with this story.
What I want to know is: What the hell is the big deal with this? The bride got cold feet, the bride disappeared. The bride turns up in Albuquerque
(which is a hell of a place to turn up), then panics and claims to have been abducted. She then wises up under questioning from police, recants her statement,
and basically says she got cold feet. Sure, it's a bit of an odd story, but stuff like this happens from time to time. At least she didn't run off with the
stripper from her bachlorette party.
So why is this being covered like it's a double-murder trial with a slow-motion white bronco police "chase"?
It's just stupid. The next time I turn on the "news", I wouldn't mind if I got some actual news out of it, with some actual reputable investigation
backing up the stories. Which means that I'll be tuning in to the BBC and/or Univision.
