House Talk

So people have been asking about the new house. It's coming along well.
We've got walls, and floors, and even lighting fixtures now! It's all quite exciting.
Here's what it looks like on the outside:
By the end of the week I should be able to get some good inside pics as well. To the point
where it will actually look liveable inside!
Needless to say, the overwhelming mintuae of decisions has consumed us. The 2 current crises
are: the place we bought our lights from cancelled one of our orders, leaving us 6 lights short
right before an inspection... nice. So whatever you do, don't buy anything from lightingshowplace.com!
Second is finding a doorbell. They all suck. They are way too expensive, and you find all these
cutsy ones that play the William Tell Overture, or Deck the Halls. I don't need that, I just need
a ding-dong that isn't boring, but isn't making a sound that should be associated with a
cathedral.
In other news, I just found out at work this morning that the IT department is moving out of the
building. The good news is that it isn't happening until November, and the better news is that we
are just moving next door. So my commute isn't going to change, and infact, I'll probably get better
parking! The bad is that I'll be spending a lot more time walking from building to building for
meetings... but I won't have to go outside, and the exercise will do me good, so maybe it isn't all
that bad. :-)
