Bitter Rage
- Alex
On a scale of one to ten on the crapola-meter, I would rate my current morning mood as "bitter rage". What's that? You're asking if this is about the
election? Nah, I conceeded my anger on that about a week ago when I predicted that no matter what happened, that Oceania would come through just fine. We
always have in the past, and especially in a time of war we always will. Wh-What's that? You again? Did I mean to say The United States instead? Well,
yes I suppose I did. Winston had it backwards anyway - it's the proles who are the problem.
No, my main problem today is that for the first time this fall... I HAD TO SCRAPE MY WINDSHIELD! This is a bad sign. It means that the days of moderate
fall daytime temps and beautiful crisp evenings are almost over, and it's time to make peace with the fact that for the next five months we're all going to
put on a brave face and pretend that we actually like this change of seasons, when really all we want is a White Christmas, and it could go straight to summer again
after that for all we care. Or maybe that's just me.
On top of that, I still have the same cold I've had since Sunday, and the "Check Engine you idiot" light came on in my car today. Of course, as near as I can
tell that light actually means "your gas cap is loose", so things could be worse.
My plea to you, then, dear reader is: distract me. Come play in the Forum, or send me emails, or just otherwise
keep me busy until I can go out tonight and play trivia. Otherwise I might have to read CNN, and none of you want that.
