The Three Best (Free!) Songs You've Never Heard

I don't think there's really any legal worries about this one - after all it's three songs from three bands that don't exist anymore, and I got the three songs for free myself in the first place. However, if anyone comes across this who has a beef, contact me, and I'll take 'er down. I'll also throw in some links for purchasing more, should you be so inclined. That said, here's the list (featuring three of my all time favorite voices):

#3. Bobby Llama: Kent's Song
The best of the Llama. Hands down. I'd been secretly wanting them to "unleash their rock" for a while when I finally heard this song, and while the studio version is a bit less agressive than the first live versions, it's still a great song. If anyone hears this song and wants to donate money to the old Llamans, I'd be happy to facilitate the sending of six thiry-cent checks out to them all. Heh heh.

If you want more (and frankly I'm shocked that this exists): Link.

#2. The Mayfield Four: Eden (Turn The Page)
Note: This first sentence is in lieu of the threatened Alter Bridge concert review from Tuesday's Gambit. Myles Kennedy can still fill up a room with his voice like no other. The guy's got great pipes, and they're on display with this song as well, which I frequently mention as one of the best rock and roll songs I've ever heard. This is apparently the radio remix of the song, and it's been posted since forever ago at themayfieldfour.net, so props to them (her? I think it's just a one-person site) for having it up as well. Finally, this song, incidentally, is also featured: here.

#1. The Watchmen: Lucky As I Am
Danny's right up there with Myles in terms of my favorite voices, by the way. I got this song as part of a little WM fan club CD way back in 1995, and this has been one of my favorite songs ever since. Just a simple little piano arrangement (hell, I can play it) with vocals, but I love it. And it invariably makes me think of Nic, which isn't a bad thing at all.

So there you have it. Hope y'all enjoy, and have a great weekend.
