Superfund

So if you're like me, you'll have watched enough news broadcasts to think that you've heard of the program called
Superfund. Click here to refresh your memory.
Sounds like a decent program, doesn't it? This is the kind of thing we want our government to fund. Or at least, I do.
I heard from a fairly cromulent source this morning a fact that more or less sickens me. He said that upwards of 90%
of the money spent on the Superfund program goes to lawyer fees. Well, in hindsight, of course it does. No corporation
wants to do anything at all that may assume responsibility, or as they'd call it, liability.
I suppose that I shouldn't just pick on the EPA, that this is how all government works. That doesn't mean I have to
like it.
