Chances are, you don't watch Sportscenter quite as fanatically as me. And so chances are, you might have missed
this story. Hit up the article, and then come back here.
I just think it's a great story. There are some quotes from the SC piece that weren't in this article, that were very good. The kid says to the
camera "Who would've thought that Coach K actually reads email? I have a hard enough time with my professors who don't read it." As someone who's
worked with college professors and watched them struggle to understand how the magic computer box works, this quote is money.
The other fun one is that Coach K said he was sitting down with a bowl of ice cream, and decided to read a few of the emails he'd gotten, just to
see what they're about. Ice cream and email - you really can't argue with the combination, can you? Heh.
In any case, between this story, and the one about Griffey giving a free trip to the all-star game to the guy who caught his 500th homerun ball
(and the guy didn't even ask for anything), I'm thinking that maybe all pro athletes aren't the egotistical jackasses they're made out to be.
Of course, that story would never sell, now would it?
And as a P.S. - last week I spent a good solid 24 hours in Seattle, and NOT ONCE did I run into Sue Bird. What gives with that? It's a travesty,
and a sham, and a... nevermind. But I am disappointed. Safeco Field is nice, though. Haha, alright, I'm out.
