No Chance?

Assuming you aren't from Sac-drah-mento, you couldn't ask for a better basketball game than Wednesday
night's game 7 of the Western Conference Semi-finals.
What made the victory especially sweet was watching a team so easy to hate, lose in a particularly painful
fashion. Watching Peja and Bibby go a combined 7-25. Watching Doug Christie finally miss a three pointer
after single-handedly keeping the Kings in the game. Watching Brad Miller miss free throws, then stupidly
going for a 2 point basket when a three was needed with a few ticks left. Then watching C-Webb's three point
attempt at the buzzer rattle out. How does anyone like these guys?
Anyway, the Timberwolves got about 0.4 seconds to enjoy this victory before the talking heads declared them dead
and buried by way of the Minneapolis...er, Los Angeles Lakers.
Despite taking 3 of 4 from the Lakers this year (Shaq played in 3 of those games), and home court advantage,
and riding a wave of emotion, the best odds you are hearing is Lakers in 6.
Granted, the Lakers are a different team right now than they were a couple months ago. It doesn't help that
during timeouts Sam Cassell is plugging himself into a battery pack for electrostimulation on his back and
stuffing his shorts with ice for a sore hip. Troy Hudson is out. Wally still can't play a lick of defense.
Gary Trent severly overestimates his abilities. But our centers have one thing going for them...they each have
6 fouls to give.
Tonight we'll find out if Shaq is serious about playing basketball. If he is... Lakers in 6. If
he isn't... Wolves in 7.
