Stadium Talk

I recieved this email today. The annual push is on for a baseball and football stadium to be built here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. While I do believe that Metrodome is currently the worst place to watch a baseball game, I'm not exactly a proponent of corporate welfare either. Especially when the beneficiary is an ancient billionaire banker. Although the Twins needs as much help as they can since Victory Sports' hold out to get a cable deal fell apart and the Twins are back on Fox Sports Net.

At any rate, this years push promises to be even harder than in years past. Best of luck to the Twins and Vikings, they'll need it.

The Minnesota Twins need your help TODAY.

Governor Tim Pawlenty recently proposed a solution to the ballpark issue that is gaining momentum at the Minnesota legislature. The Governor's proposal does not include the use of any state general fund. With your help, a workable ballpark bill may finally be passed into law this year.

Your State Representative, Peter Adolphson, is a member of one of the committees which will soon be voting on the ballpark proposal. It is very important that committee members hear from people living in their districts about issues they are debating.

If you support the ballpark issue, it is vital that you contact your legislator as soon as possible. Click on the following link to e-mail Peter Adolphson to let him know that you support the ballpark issue.

rep.peter.adolphson@XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Or, you may call Peter Adolphson during business hours at 651-XXX-XXXX.

Please let Peter Adolphson know that you support the effort to build a new outdoor ballpark for the Minnesota Twins, and be sure to include your name and address in your note so that your State Representative knows that you live in their legislative district.

For more information about the Governor's proposal and the current status of the ballpark effort go to: http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com and click on the "new ballpark" link.

As you know, we have been working together with the Minnesota Legislature for several years to find a viable solution to the ballpark issue. We truly believe this legislative session a ballpark bill can be passed that will be good for the fans, the players, the team and the greater community.

Thank you very much for your continued support.

Dave St. Peter, President
Minnesota Twins
