Austin in the News
- Alex
Sometimes the news just makes it too easy to Gambit-ize. Here's a link:
Clicky-clicky.
And for when the link expires, here's the story:
Early Saturday morning, a cab driver passing by the Tendermade Restaurant spotted people breaking into the business, so he called police.
When officers arrived, they found that the front door had been kicked in and the cash register was stolen.
But the roll of tape that records transactions in the register was unraveling behind the thieves as they ran away. Officers simply followed the 100-foot-tape into the bushes, where two suspects were hiding.
Ok, so first of all, as always, this is the only way my hometown ever gets into the news. Someone holds up a bank with a hamburger, they're
having a SPAM carving contest, John Madden is master of ceremonies at the fourth annual Fat Parade, etc...
Secondly, a cab driver? In Austin? At least it was early morning - must've been one of the four men in town who'd sacrifice their manhood to
admit that they're too drunk to drive. Four might be a high estimate, come to think of it.
And finally... mmm, Tendermaids. Is it lunch time yet? I'm out.
