Ramblit
- Wade
- I have little time and even less coherent thought, ergo a rambling gambit (a "ramblit," if you're scoring at home.)
- I listened to the Timberwolves game last night while unclogging the utility drain in my laundry room. Like me, it didn't look good for a while but all was fine by 10 p.m. My question-- do we need Sczerbiak and Hudson? The temptation is to answer "no, trade 'em" but I think that's too easy. Hassel and "the mayor" Hoiberg may be the real thing, but Spree can't keep playing 42 minutes a night until April. Wally will help alleviate those minutes.
- I'm postulating a guess that when Roger Clyne wrote the words "Everyone knows / that the world is full of stupid people" he was working for RBC.
- It what is proving to be a mistake, we busted out my early 90's mp3s at the New Years' Eve party. The result? Chesney Hawkes' "I Am the One and Only" has been looping through my head for two straight weeks. Oy.
- Looking for a book of well-written, funny essays? I'll lend you Fraud by David Rakoff. Great, intelligent stuff that makes you think while you laugh. The antithesis of Robin Williams.
- Give me some rube cred, I'm back on the KFAN wagon. I've gone in cycles with the FAN since 1996, usually more on than off, but hadn't really been a regular listener for a couple of years. I've always liked Barreiro, but Common was too bitter and PA & Dubay too, um, "hip" for me for a while. Thanks to streaming audio, I'm back on the flirtay eleven thir-tay. I've moved out of the basement, and life is good.
- And I'd love to try KFAN The Restaurant sometime. However, picking the right time is the key. The Matts and I attempted to visit a couple of Fridays ago-- it was 8 p.m. by the time we got there, so I figured there wouldn't be too big of a crowd. Wrong-- a two hour wait. Must be great nachos.
OK, happy campers, off to a meetin'. "When I grow up, I want to be a scribe and write parking lot issues down on a whiteboard."
