December football...only second to playoff football, and in some ways better.
Sure some teams lock up their playoff spots early and bench their marquee players, but not yet this year.
No one has more than a game lead for home field, and only 3 teams have more than a game lead on first place
in their division.
December is when championship teams are born. Not too many teams go 0-4 or 1-3 in December and do well in the
playoffs.
As the saying goes, "time to get down to brass tacks gentlemen!"
As for me, I'll be screaming my lungs out in the friendly confines of the Metrodome as the Vikings hope to get
revenge on last years throttling by Seattle. Those 5 TDs by Shaun Alexander were painful to watch. Of course
a sub par day on defense by the Vikings could recreate that record day for him.
For those of you not interested in Vikings football and have Sunday Ticket, or live in the right market, check
out Indy @ Tennessee. You hear this phrase tossed out all the time, but I think this game could be a preview
of the AFC championship.
But most of all...savor December football... at least it's better than December basketball or hockey...
