Just like...
- Alex
What an exciting game last night between the Red Sox and A's! Who knew Derek Lowe had that in him? The Sox must be riding high
going into their series with the Yankees. Just like in 1999, they lost their first two games of the ALDS, only to come roaring back and
win the next three to set the ALCS matchup with their arch rivals.
Of course, just like in 1999, they also used two of their best pitchers in game five, while the Yankees sat at home and rested
and watched. Which means that your game one starter in Yankee Stadium will be... Tim Wakefield. Which may be just like 1999, but
I'm way too lazy to look that up. In any case, I like Timmy, but knuckleballers just don't radiate dominance.
For the record, in 1999 the Yankees won the ALCS 4 games to 1, with the Sox only win coming when Pedro beat Clemens. Hey... guess
who the probable starters for game three are!
Let's hope the Red Sox fans aren't a superstitious lot. Wait, what am I saying...?
