Gone Fishin'
- Wade
Mornin' sunshine. As you read this, I will (hopefully) be yanking an eight-pound walleye out of the chilled waters of Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada. I am leaving Wednesday night and won't return until next Wednesday night-- a full week of wilderness, fishing, and no bears. Accentuate that last part.
I'm not sure I can remember the last time I've been on vacation for a full week that wasn't over Thanksgiving or Christmas. I'm a big fan of holidays and family, but those vacations aren't always the most *relaxing*, you know? The goal of this upcoming week is simple and twofold: a) relax and b) catch fish.
It'll be nice to get away from the city. And we're way the heck up there-- a six-hour drive, then a 40-minute plane ride. The place that we're going is so secluded that we apparently won't see any other humans on our trip. There's also no radio reception, which, considering Twins' performance the last two nights, isn't that big of deal. Maybe I'll come back and we'll be in first!
"You know I'm a dreaaamer....."
Anyways. Have a good week. And I'll bring back some walleye cheeks for ya.
