[Editor's Note: The Daily Gambit is on summer hiatus. It's much like your favorite television programs, with the notable
exception that we're not involved with television in any way. There will be occasional gambits when one of us is feeling particularly
inspired, so your best bet is to check the archives to see if you've missed anything. Conveniently, there's a link to the archives off
to your right on this very page! Thanks for your continued interest in SP, and we'll see ya on a regular basis again in the fall.]
Reflection
- Alex
I came across this link a couple weeks ago,
right about the time we went on our hiatus. The story is still relevant enough to me, though, that I still want to write about it. So here I am.
Go read it first... I'll wait...
Ok, glad you're all back.
I was eight when Joe Delaney died. I was a sports dork even then, and I can remember hearing about it on the news and having to ask my
parents what drowning meant. I couldn't really swim until high school, give or take, so perhaps that why the story has stuck with me.
There's really not much that I can add to Mr. Reilly's article. All I want to do is to contribute my two cents in support of focusing on
the good people in the world. I'm out. See y'all when we see ya.

feedback. Maybe we'll even run your letters in future Gambits. 'The Daily Gambit' is updated every weekday.
