Let The Rant Begin...
- wadE
In the immortal words of Dennis Miller:
"I don't mean to go on a rant here, but..."
I was recently thinking about a Dateline NBC episode I saw awhile ago and they were interviewing the McCoua...
McCoughay.. you know, the people in Iowa who used fertility drugs and had septuplets. Anyway, two of the children
have some serious mental and physical problems due to the fact that there were SEVEN of them in a single womb,
and the odds are with that many children you'll actually have more children with developmental problems.
Eventually the interviewer got around to the burning question, "why didn't you have some of them removed to give the
remaining a better chance at survivial". Their response is that it would be against God's will. Wait, you defy God's
will by using fertility drugs to get pregnant, but then when you get impregnated with a litter, that's God's will?
You just can't have it both ways.
It's like people who take the Bible word for word. Dinosaurs didn't really exist, carbon-dating is fake, the world
didn't exist 6,000 years ago, etc. You know, I can respect your views, however you can't just pick and choose your
beliefs...if you are going along with that I better not see you eating any pork, and I should really be seeing a lot
more goats being sacrificed (see Leviticus).
Am I wrong here?
